The first show of the tour lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes. The venue was small and comfortable and Sting looked energized. All tracks of the (regular) album Brand New Day were performed.
Manu Katché rapped during Perfect Love Gone Wrong.
During Mad About You Sting forgot the lyrics to almost every verse.
Before Fill Her Up Sting did a nice intro about Las Vegas criminals. He needed to read the words by constantly looking at his music stand.
During Fields Of Gold Dominic's guitar broke down. After he was handed a more of a steel-sounding guitar as a replacement, it was a delightful version.
Moon Over Bourbon Street wasn't performed since 1986 (not counting the "Night of the Proms" shows in 1993) had a calypso type feel to it. Sting's voice sounded quite different (a creaky voice in a kind of Louis Armstrong style).
The rap during Englishman In New York was dropped and sounded much like the version during the Nothing Like The Sun tour.
Brand New Day started with the extended intro.
Like all previous Sting tours the medley of Bring on the Night/ When the World Is Running Down was included in the setlist.
Before Desert Rose Sting admitted that this song was supposed to be earlier in the show, but they forgot it. He thanked the audience for not saying anything about the mistakes they made tonight.
During Every Breath You Take the backup singers didn't get the words right.
