The cast of this year's annual Rainforest Foundation Benefit included Sting, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, James Taylor and opera singer Jessye Norman and world music performer Geoffrey Oryema from Uganda. Special surprise guest were Billy Joel and Jon Bon Jovi. Tickets for the sold out concert and dinner costed around $1,200. Don Grolnick was listed as the show's music director, and James Taylor's band provides backup for all the musicians.
The Sixth Annual Benefit Concert for the Rainforest Foundation was produced by Trudie, Vice President of the Rainforest Foundation. The theme of the show was "It's Now Or Never, A Tribute To The Music Of The 50's". The Carnegie Hall benefit raised over one million dollars.
After the intermission most of the artists performed songs which were originally sung by Elvis Presley.
Guests at the party included Demi Moore, Isabella Rossellini, Gary Oldmon, Claudia Schiffer and Brooke Shields.
