Sting - Concert information

[Updated: August 12, 2001]

31-01-1994 / Manila / Ultra / PHILIPPINES
Attendance: 40,000; sellout.
When Sting went on stage there was still a huge flow of people coming in the front gate to the stadium. There were still about 15,000 people outside, who were trying to get through the one entrance that the police and security people had to beat them back with batons. When they heard Sting's music begin they all surged forward and it looked extremely dangerous. Somehow Billy Francis managed to make Sting aware of the situation. Sting then explained the problem to the audience, and announced that he was going to take a break and come back on when it was safe to do so. When everyone was in, the crowd went crazy as Sting returned to the stage.
