Can't Stand Losing You - Next To You
The Old Grey Whistle Test was The Police's first ever UK TV appearence. The Police performed Can't Stand Losing You and Next To You live in the studio, with only a one second gap in between both numbers.
On his birthday Sting flew from Brighton, where he was recording the film Quadrophenia, to Manchester. He almost blinded himself when a faulty areosol can sprayed in his face. During the recording of the BBC TV-show he wore Stewart's sunglasses just to dim the bright studio lights. The glasses were too large for Sting, so he had to balance it on his nose.
