The Police - Concert information

[Updated: April 8, 2006]

01-03-1977 / Newport, Gwent / Alexander’s / UK
• Support act for: Cherry Vanilla.
The Police performed their first ever performance in front of a live audience. The set lasted for about forty minutes and was made up mostly of Stewart's songs (including Kids To Blame which he'd written and recorded with Curved Air) plus a couple by Sting.
Sting and Stewart also backed up Cherry Vanilla during her set.
Most sources mention that this performance took place at The Stowaway, but it's most likely that this took place at Alexander's (as Sting mentions in his book Broken Music).
